In the year 20xx, during a scorching noon in District G, City T, a mysterious Gate leading to another world suddenly appears. From within the Gate, a horde of otherworldly monsters spills forth, turning District G into a hellish battleground in an instant. With overwhelming weapons and tactics, the JDF (Japan Defense Force) defeats the invaders and establishes a military base on the other side of the Gate, resisting the Empire’s invasion and seeking opportunities for peaceful negotiations.

Second Lieutenant Itami Youji, an otaku within the JDF, commands Recon Team 3 and receives orders to investigate the world beyond the Gate, known as the Special Region. In this fantastical world, he battles dragons, encounters beautiful sorceresses, spirits, and even gods that were once mere legends.

Simultaneously, outside the Gate, other nations exert diplomatic pressure on Japan, driven by their ambition to exploit the abundant resources of the Special Region.

Two worlds, with differing ideologies and even opposing views, are connected through the Gate, intertwining in a thrilling adventure.
